Introducing The Tithe Barn at Bolton Abbey
Built in the 16th century, The Tithe Barn is set within the grounds of the Duke of Devonshire’s majestic Bolton Abbey estate in the Yorkshire Dales. This Grade II* listed building is one of the largest exclusive-use wedding [venues] in the UK. It is the latest in Cripps & Co’s barn restorations.
Inside, the barn’s majestic scale comes into its own. It is lit with uplights on the flagstone floor and fairy lights woven through the beams that support the barn’s elevated ceiling. Huge, medieval chandeliers refract candlelight around the room and colourful Moroccan stools are scattered around the bar.
The barn can accommodate 200 guests for a ceremony and dining, with a further 100 evening guests for dancing, bringing the total capacity to 300.
Ceremonies take place in the main barn, and from Summer 2019 we will also hold outdoor ceremonies on the barn’s terrace with views across the Bolton Abbey Priory ruins and the surrounding landscape. The terrace has large fire pits and plenty of seating, so guests can enjoy the view during post-ceremony drinks.
Feast in style in The Tithe Barn, on food flame-grilled on a huge indoor BBQ and French rotisseries. Our in-house chefs buy the best, cook it simply and serve it generously.
The on-site Tithe Barn team are on hand to help with everything, from the big ideas to the last minute details.
